ABOUT US
Welcome to New Vista
Founded in 1984 by three sets of parents of intellectually challenged children, the first program, New Vista Ranch, Inc. was created. In 1987 the Gilcrease brothers donated 15 acres of land to the charity and this gave New Vista the platform to build their first 4 homes.
New Vista is a non-profit organization that develops programs to meet the needs of each individual by providing a stable foundation, empowering the people we support, and enriching the lives of our supporters. Since people with disabilities require different levels of support, we tailor our programs to meet their varied goals towards independence. New Vista touches the lives of everyone involved: our staff, the Board of Trustees, our supporters, the families of each supported individual, and everyone that comes into contact with them. Their triumphs touch all of us deeply.
We are a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization that fulfills needs. We passionately empower the people we support.
We Empower People to Experience a Better Quality of Life
Today, New Vista provides an array of programs that focus on giving options in every part of people’s lives. We carefully innovate programs that inspire people. We believe that by building self esteem which empowers people daily that they can experience a better quality of life. We teach the people we support skills to use in everyday life with the goal of living independently within a safe community. We believe all of us are in this life together.
We Empower People to Participate in the World
Whether the people we support are on their own, part of an in-home program, or in one of New Vista’s homes, we afford them the opportunities to have experiences and social interactions that enhance their lives and the lives of everyone they meet.
We Empower Families and Create Connections
Having a disability can sometimes be disabling for the entire family. We teach family members and the individuals we support how to reestablish connections, changing lives by turning what can sometimes be a burden into something accepted and appreciated. Our staff and supporters share in creating lifelong connections too.
